First Day of Pre-K! (sniffle sniffle)

First Day of School

We went to school today

My little girl and I

I worried all through breakfast

afraid that she might cry.

I watched her walk away with pride

and I was quite alone.

The tears I thought would surely be hers

are indeed my very own.

It went a lot like that poem. Baby girl was sooo excited on her first day. No nervousness, anxiety, tears, those were all mine. I can't say enough great things about her teachers Mrs Judith Ralston and Mrs Marie. Savannah is a very affectionate little girl and she loves to give hugs...her teachers are great about it. Savannah walked right in on her first day and barely waved us goodbye. Today on the second day was just the same...our strong independent social butterfly!

Cousin Jayce on his first day!

What an emotional and great day. She's so strong and independent. She really makes us proud. I just know that this will be a great year! We already got our first projects, they look so fun!

We.R.Family...Sing it!

Just a random post with cell pictures. 

We spend a lot of time with the Stengels. The kids LOVE to play together. One day I desperately needed Ani's help watching the kids and as usual she was there to watch them. I came to pick them up and I saw how cute they are together. This is E sitting on Jayces lap. He just adores him. Jayce and Savvy are in the same Pre-K class too! I love that they are cousins and so close! Melts my heart!

The kids have taken a liking to the shower...I have to admit it's pretty easy. These two crack me up.

And a typical morning trying to get ready at home...both kids...each clinging to a leg calling "momma" or crying....oy vey.

Batman Birthday Envy

Savannah had a little bit of birthday envy a couple of weeks ago when her good friend Garrett had his 5th birthday pool party.  We arrived to find BATMAN making balloon animals for everyone which was very exciting. Savannah of course quickly requested a balloon sword. Batman was very fun to play with he got the kids doing pool games, catching the "bat star" into the water off the diving board, and he even painted masks on the kids (which washed off promptly as they plunged back int he pool). Savannah got really excited when they brought our Garretts cake. It was a city view of Gotham city with all the major characters around the buildings. I think it took major restraint to not blow out his candles. Notice she's sitting on her hands. HA! Easton had a good time eating everything in sight and toddling around. I asked a friend to watch him on the steps so I could change into my suit and before I could turn around he nose dived into the pool. We both dove in after him. He of course came up with a huge smile on his face, ready to dive in again!

She kept trying to have lengthy conversations with Batman all day. She wanted to know where he lived, how far Gotham city was, does he hang out with Robin? What his house looked like, what does he drive...she was relentless. Good thing nice Batman played along.

She was pretty sad when Batman left. She stood in the same spot and watched him walkaway and even after he was out of sight she sat there and stared for over fiver minutes. It was sad...I think we may see a Batman birthday in our future! She really had a great time with Batman and her pals.

Pre-K Boot Camp!

Our little nugget is starting Pre-K? You can't be serious! We had Pre-K boot camp this past week. I think this may have been more for the parents. To get used to dropping off your kids without crying your eyes out.  I totally was caught off guard by the emotions I felt dropping her off. I found myself with a quivering lip as I pulled out of the parking lot. She was so excited to see her buddies and of course didn't worry a bit as I left. This is a pic I took of her in the hall before she went to meet her friends who when they saw her started yelling "Savannah come sit by me"! She promptly started rearranging everyones name tags. Welcome camp director Savannah!

Sigh. She's growing up TOO FAST!

Yacht Week! Part Deux

Ok I'm back with the rest of the vacay story! So back to the Corinth Canal because I found more great pics of that. We had a Caviar splash while passing through...I'm not a huge Caviar lover but Kevin ate enough for the both of us. 

After the pass and dinner we relocated to some deck chairs and relaxed as we sailed. This is Daniel looking posh. 

We awoke to my FAVORITE Greek island Hydra. Prounounced "EEEEE-DRA" I prounounced it wrong the whole time by the way. Hydra is unique because there aren't any cars or anything by motor. Only mules...yes jackass...mules. Ha! Kevin REALLY wanted to ride one. I don't know why but somehow the guy conned us both into riding one around the so called block for 20 euro. I kid you not. It was kinda neat once I got my butt mounted on the wood saddle. Yes wood. 

The flowers and buildings were breathtaking and I must say the shopping was amazing.

Like Rodeo Drive?

Blue Water is so Therapeutic. 

My mom the animal lover she is saw some stray cats. The island apparently has an epidemic because when I say some I mean 10000000000. She decided this would be an opportune time to feed them her lunch leftovers. You can see one of the ferrel flea mongers on the bottom left of the below shot. This was only moments before it clawed the eyes out of another homeless cat for a morsel of meat. Ok kidding. But they did hiss and claw at eachother.

We stopped on another island Patmos but I didn't get off and instead chose to do water sports (wake board in the aegean sea? Um YA!) and Kevin and I rode the jet ski around. We heard the island was "eh" so we didn't miss much. 

Next stop Kusadasi, Turkey! Can you say knock offs? I left with a loot of wannabe Burberry, Tory Burch, Ray Bans, and Lacoste. This isn't the China knock off junk either...this is the real deal. No rug purchases though. We seem to have that covered. 

And we are off! To....SANTORINI! Kevin's fave stop of all. The island was truly beautiful. White buildings, blue roofs, marble walkways. Wow. 

Lunch in Oia. My 100th Gyro but damn was it great! And Fix beer. WOW! YUM.

 We rode mules...yes mules again up the island for 20 minutes but took the ski lift (i know right?) down.

Hey Sea Dream!

And the family Christmas card pic. We always match is some ridiculous outfit. This year someone? Had the idea to wear the "crew" shirts. After all we've been on Sea Dream twice (kids twice Mom and Ed three times) and we feel like the crew is family.

This is also the time on the trip where my spray tan had completely worn off leaving me to look like an albino next to my dark ethnic looking husband and family! Was I adopted? I swear I spent hours laying in the sun during the trip (with high SPF sunscreen of course). So please note I will be photo shopping the Christmas card photo so that I look like I've been in a tropical paradise.

Last Stop, Athens. Or Hot as Hades whichever you wish to call it. OMG it was 100 degrees ok 90 but it felt like 200+ degrees. Historical sites get an A+ the weather gets an F+, food B+. All and all I'd give Athens a solid B.

Wow! What a trip. It was super hard to be away from the kids but so great for Kevin and I to share this trip together and be with the fam with no responsibilities other than "what chair do I read in today?". Thanks Mom and Ed for another fabulous vacay. We truly will remember this for our entire lives!
