Police Officers and Jail Birds

Savannah has quite the imagination, and recently an obsession with Police Officers. This all started when we passed a jail and I explained to her what it was. She then told me she wanted to be a "jailer". Basically meaning she wanted to be a Warden. So when we flipped through the halloween costume catalog no other costume would do...Of course I love a Duo and Easton is too young to argue. So I made him a Jail Bird. Just a perfect little duo! We ended up taking 2nd in the Harvest fest costume contest too! Nana and Grandpa flew in Friday as well. Savannah unfortunately came down with the stomach bug around 1am Friday but on the bright side we were able to beat it and be well by the time they arrived to our house. An attack of Lysol and Bleach kept the rest of us well! Phew! Harvest fest was a bit chilly and windy so we didn't stay as long as we usually do. We found refuge at my favorite cafe and ate hot soup and grilled cheese. YUM! It was so nice to have Nana and Grandpa visiting, we didn't want them to go home. Eastons new favorite word is "Nana"!

Soccer Fun

This soccer season has been interesting to say the least. Savannah loves to kick the ball in the yard and so does Easton. He loves to say "kick it" and run around. So when soccer sign ups came along I thought I'd coach and I was excited to see her play. Well I think she needs another year to grow...because really she spent more time running in circles than playing. We did have a break through in the third game when she took the ball from the mid field line and took it to the goal...twice! Then a third goal towards the end of the season where she was at the right place at the right time and kicked it in. But the rest of the games were more of her talking to the other girls, looking for ant piles, spotting a plane, or mostly asking me to be out because she was "tired". I must say though the overall love and sweetness of the girls on the team made it all worth it. They were such amazing girls and I had so much fun being called "coach" and getting their hugs every practice and game. Giving out the trophies yesterday I got choked up talking to them. I just loved playing with them and watching them grow! Plus I love some of their aggressive attitudes! Reminds me of the good ole days on the field!! I think soccer coaching is in my future for a long time...

Here are some pics from our last game, 2 out of 5 girls were out sick but I had these cuties to coach.

The cuties before the last game. Maggy, Addy, and Savvy

They requested a silly picture.

Labor Day Family Fun at the Bridges

The bridges has a ton of events. We usually miss them because we live in GA. This time though we were there for the Labor Day family event! They had a ton of kids events, the most DELISH food, a golf cart parade appropriately themed, and adult beverages...yay! A fabulous way to end a fabulous weekend with friends and family. We are blessed.

We had a BALL, so did the kiddos

Sweet Marley

Saying I've dreaded writing this post is an understatement. I think that's why I've been so distant from the blog. I want to catalog our lives...the good and the bad. But this is almost too much to write about. My love, My Mar Mar, My first dog my very own since my junior year in college passed away at the worst most untimely moment. We were in California to celebrate my birthday when our dog sitter called us with the news. It was Friday at 6:30...the worst call I would hope I would never get. Marley had gone to sleep sunbathing on the deck...she never woke up. Why this happened then, I will never know. Why wasn't I there? If I was there could I have saved her? What was she doing and thinking in her last moments? I'd never know. This sweet girl was more to me than a dog. Those who don't have a special friend like this will never understand. She was a life saver at the time, a friend when I was so lonely, a co pilot on my drive to Georgia. And always always always by my side. I will miss this girl more than I can write. She was so great to our kids, always the punching bag to their blows, the doll to dress up, and the stinky face kisser when they least expected it. She was one of a kind...my first baby girl. I will never forget that sweet face and those hugs only she could give. Losing two dogs in 9 months has been ROUGH to say the least. I knew this day would come but didn't expect its timing to come so quick. I love you Mar Mar. You will always be in my thoughts...always.

We scattered the pups ashes together on a gorgeous southern sunset summer day. In all the places they used to run. Mostly on the dirt road but some where they would stop to pee or play, and of course in the yard. It was so hard to do but immediately after Kevin and I felt a big release. Those two opposites who loved each other to pieces were together again. Yin and Tang, Vanilla and Chocolate, Fat and Skinny, Hyper and Lazy...loved each other so much. We often wonder if they were like an old ederly couple who couldn't live without one another and Marley simply wanted to be with her lean hunk of a man up on the rainbow bridge. Maybe that is it...if so. We hope you Marley are giving Boss hell up there and showing him who's the real "Boss" and then cuddling like the sweet two you were. XOXO

My last cuddle pic of this love.

I don't know why I zoomed in on her lovely face but I'm glad I did.

My last Instagram of her. "I'm sexy and I know it". forever and ever you will be!

RIP Marley Palmer. We love you sweet girl. I can't wait to meet you on the Rainbow Bridge one day. I will kiss you on my fave spot.

And then I was 29...again.

Saying I've been MIA would be an understatement I know. We are all alive and well, I'll try to catch us up! So going back a month we flew out to So Cal for Labor day to celebrate my bday with the fam and my besties! Savannah was SO excited to fly out there! The flight was a breeze. I have some great traveling kids! We went to Sea World on Friday. I haven't been in YEARS...maybe 15 or so. That place has really changed! We did a behind the scenes tour that was beyond amazing. We got to pet dolphins, show them hand signals to do tricks, feed them, we got priority seating at every show, a guided tour...let me tell you they rolled out the red carpet. It was awesome!! Savannahs favorite part was feeding the sea lions. You have to feed them fast because these crazy aggressive Seagulls would snatch the fish out from your hands! Easton loved the Shamu show. He kept pointing and saying "fish!" It was a great day with the whole fam!!

The dolphins took the opportunity at the end to totally drench us. I was squealing "ahhhhh" so I ended up with a mouthful of salt water...blechhh.

WHOA hundreds of fish!

Shamu!

Just petting a tiger shark...no big deal

On to the Birthday celebration. My parents put on a fabulous bash at the Bridges Country Club. Complete with a cocktail hour and a private dinner. All my besties came to celebrate. The kiddos had an awesome sitter who came to the house to watch them while we partied away! Lots of great pics from a super fun evening. Thank you all for celebrating with me. It was such a memorable night (thanks to the photos!)...xoxoxo

What a great night!!
