Savannah Turns 5!

Oh wow...Savannah turned 5 this week! She's such a big girl now. Such an independent soul. Never shy, always ready to make a new friend, and talking like she's 30 already. Where did our baby girl go? On her Birthday we had a cookout at Mimi and Grandads with the fam. She was showered in love and presents and loved every second. At school on Monday we made special "5" cookies and "S" cookies which in hindsight look identical and I could have saved myself a lot of time. But she wanted red and blue cookies and that's what we got!

I went to her school at lunch to see the Birthday girl and she was crowned with her hat sitting with her two fave buds. Ryder and Xavi! She was so excited that next we'd get to celebrate her birthday with the class!

When we got to the class we all sang Happy Birthday to the big Birthday girl and we took pics to remember the occasion. Daddy, Mimi, and Grandad came too! The videos below are precious! We gave out favors to her classmates and one of them were glow sticks. Her awesome teacher sent me pictures of the kids with their glow sticks in the dark! How fun! The kids were loving them! I also attempted a Pinterest idea of baking cupcakes in cones to resemble ice cream cones...fail. Cones were soggy and half of them exploded...I think I had 4 that looked normal but that was all that mattered. I also had icing issues. I'm def not a Martha Stewart. We brought those to the Palmers to celebrate and she was happy!

Egg-cellent! Easter 2013

We had a lot of fun dyeing our Easter eggs  this year. Easton was old enough to partake and we made a few kinds with glitter or with white crayon messages, and even some with Pirate stickers thanks to a dear friend at work Darby for the Easter bunny. We made a bunch of eggs and the kids really got into it! On Easter morning we woke up to a huge egg hunt in our front yard! It was a bit chilly but we had a bunch of fun. Easton was distracted by his first plastic egg when he found out there was candy in it. He was done hunting until he ate all the candy in that egg...then he'd find another...and repeat. Candy for breakfast? Yes please! Thanks to the Easter bunny for our treats and all the treats Nana and Grandpa sent too!

Gooser Mooser!

I had to give everyone an update on Goose. We are SO lucky to have been blessed with this boy. He loves the kids, loves to play with us in the yard, he's so loyal and protective of us, and best of all he loves a couch cuddle. I just can't get enough of him. He was meant to be ours and I thank him everyday for his love. 

When I saw them napping together I just about died. Their bond is unreal to me. Savannah loves to go out in the backyard with Goose. I love watching them walk around together as she talks to him. It's just precious. At night when I read the kids a bedtime story Goose gets in bed with Savannah. He will usually lay there around 30 minutes until she falls asleep then he comes downstairs to cuddle with me. He's just a love bug!

Did I mention he's goofy. He sleeps in the weirdest positions. 

He loves the kids cuddles no matter how restraining it is.

Spring and Easter Party for the Lime Lizards!

The Lime Lizards had a really cute Easter celebration at school. They had baby chicks, we made bunny cupcakes, dyed Easter eggs, and had a huge egg hunt on the lawn. There were eggs for days! I was lucky enough to run by and check out the action.

So I was walking down the hall and I was looking at all the Leprechauns. I stopped at this one and thought, why is this the only mad Leprechaun? His name is "Lepper"? What disturbed child made this? Oh don't worry it was ours! The Lime lizards liked to show off their cool Easter baskets! Her basket was over flowing after the hunt. We had candy for days. I had to hide it so she wouldn't be a sugar monster!

NYC with Nana and my girl!

I had to work in NYC for several days so my mom was awesome enough to fly out to NYC to meet Savvy and I so they could play while I worked. After work we were able to show Savannah the amazing city that Manhattan is! We saw the Empire State building on a very cold snowy day! She didn't seem to mind the clouds or the snow. She was amazed at how tall the buildings were. She'd learned all about sky scrapers and the Empire State Building so this was very cool to see. I as a great mommy forgot gloves and hats because... well it was warm in Georgia. Luckily we bought some and headed out.

This day was too much for this nugget. After waking up at 5am to fly she crashed on my lap at dinner at a very swanky yummy Mexican place. She didn't even eat, it was straight to bed for this tired girl. 

The weekend gave us some more free time so we checked out Grand Central!

Then we had a great breakfast at Sara Beths in Central Park!

My mom surprised Savannah with AMAZING tickets to see Spiderman after Dark at the Foxwood. We had fly zone seats. Which means Spidey flys up to your seat and in our case gave her a "high five" in the middle of the show. I totally got choked up. It made her life I'm pretty sure!

She told us after she took her pic with Spider man that he said "I love you". She was impressed. We are still wondering? While I worked my mom took Savannah all over the city. To central park for a carriage ride, to the Natural History museum, and to see the Statue of Liberty. She really enjoyed this trip tells everyone she knows that she's been there and what she was able to see. This girl sure is a world traveler for 5 years old! We ate at some amazing restaurants too which probably didn't matter to Savannah because she ordered chicken fingers mostly but my mom and I had a ball! Thanks Mom for making this trip. It was a trip of a lifetime and something we'll never forget. 

What a great trip! I was so glad to have them with me while I worked. It was a great week!
