Christmas Amazingness 2012

I just love Christmas time. Having kids brings all the magic and excitement back and I just couldn't wait for the kiddos to see what Santa brought them this year. Savvy was bouncing off the walls the days before Christmas, there is no doubt she "gets it" this year. Easton feed off her excitement and everytime he'd see a tree or some lights he'd say "Woooow" with the sweetest cutest voice. They were so excited Christmas morning...I was giddy waiting. Video link is below. Savannah had a letter of 5 things that she specifically wanted from Santa. Santa enlisted his helpful elves (kiddos grandparents) to help. Nana and Grandpas highlights of gifts included a Power Ranger Mask and Sword, for E a discovery house and a drill with screws and nails. From Mimi and Grandad a Police Car Power Wheels, a Remote Control Train, All the Power Ranger figures (this was a big hit), and for E a bouncing Tigger and A Chuggington Train. From Baba and Meme lots of super hero toys (YEAH!), adorable clothes, and Spider man glove, and a web shooting Spider man. Santa's highlights were a Bat Cave and Spider Man house for Savvy along with Power Ranger movies and an Avenger Movie. For Easton his own big PB Kids Oversized Anywhere Chair, a scooter, a lawn mower. From Mommy and Daddy, Super Hero jammies for Savvy, a Batman VoiceCommand Helicopter with batman that talks to it,and for E a leaf blower that blow bubbles, and a Melissa & Doug Instrument set.. just to name a few. Thanks to everyone who gave and sent gifts...the kids and us loved them all. I don't want to make our audience bored naming them all off.

Lime Lizard Christmas Celebration!

Savannahs Class had their Christmas celebration on Friday. They had made the cutest Santa lizard shirts and they had their Santa hats on. When they entered the gym they had a surprise behind their backs...hmmm? And our goofball as seen in the first pic is walking in backwards. That girl loves a grand entrance! They sang a couple group songs and each of the 3 classes (they had a few different christmas performances this year) sang their own song. The Lime Lizards sang "Must be Santa Claus". Even Easton had a great time watching his big sis sing.

Then they turned off the lights and gave each kid a candle. Savannahs teacher got up to announce the group. She wanted us to remember the "true meaning of Christmas and to be thankful for those we have this Christmas season" She got a little choked up and we all knew she was referring to the Sandy Hook tragedy. We then had a moment of silence and you could have heard a pin drop...then the little angels sang Silent Night. It was so touching and beautiful and we are so lucky to have our loved ones this holiday season.

One day I will speak to you about what happened last week in Connecticut. It will be very hard for me to explain that such an evil and terrible thing can happen to such innocent people. Its such an unimaginable thing...there are 19 parents out there who had to go home without their child. Families lost their cherished family members. It is just a terrible thing. I simply cannot imagine the pain those affected have felt, and hope I never will. But for now I will let you live blissfully unaware of the evil in this world, and be the happy go lucky kid you are.

Ruby Falls at Christmas

We went to Ruby Falls last weekend to see Santa and play at his workshop. We also took a horse drawn carriage ride around Lookout Mtn (or maybe it was more like the parking lot) but it was still cool! They had "snow" and it was decorated so cute for Christmas! The kids loved it!

Calhoun Annual Christmas Parade!

In true Christmas parade fashion the weather dipped to the 40s the night of the parade. We dressed in layers and in our Jacket Pride gear and headed downtown. Mimi and Grandad parked the car so we had a place to be warm before it started. Savannah and Easton like to pretend like they are camping in the back of the car. I almost didn't tear them away to watch the actual parade!
