It runs in the family

So this post has a couple of meanings....
1st...running...I used to run religiously...like every day. In highschool, college, and after. Then wham, I was preggers and I quit. Preggers with Savannah that is. So 4 years later I decided to pick up those ole running shoes and start it again. WOW! I missed it soo much! Every morning the sunrise, the dirt road, and I have a date. Its the BEST way to start the day! I'm in love! Where have I been wasting my workout time all these years! So the only reason to say this is to scream "I love running again!" Its been about 2 months and I've barely missed a weekday of running.

2nd...the fam, just LOVE them. The Palmers have a huge fam. I love that, one of the best things I loved about Kevin when I met him. I love the family dinners and the get togethers. Even though the kids ages are pretty spread apart it works out great. JT went off to college about a month ago (he's on a scholarship to Presbyterian) so he's been in training but he came home this weekend with some friends. The whole fam got together for a BBQ and some wiffle ball fun at their house. Such a great time! Today we took another pic for the football program at Cedar Hill Lake. The pictures turned out sooo cute! Taylor and Molly in their majorette uniforms, Adam in his Fball jersey and my lil kidlets in theirs. I just love these pics! It's YELLOW JACKET COUNTRY! GOOOO JACKETS! It was a nice weekend with the fam and I'm so looking forward to heading west and seeing my fam this weekend. Mom and Ed are in a new house and they can't wait to show it to us! River Runs Through It

We were invited by great friends of ours to spend the day and night at a cabin in Ellijay and float down the river on Saturday. I haven't done this since college and was so super excited to do this! The cabin was full of lodge-y awesomeness, and the best part it was ON the river. Like there was a ladder that we could use to get in and out of the water. We drove to the put in spot around 12 and were in the water all set up with our beverages by 12. The water was a tad bit chilly but we got used to it pretty quick. Considering the air temperature was over 90. The lazy river is picturesque and the rapids are pretty fun! Well into the day a couple of rapids did end up tipping me over. Our cabin was WAYYY down the river we learned after we had floated for 5 hours...one more hour proved to get us to our cabin. We were worn out, water logged, and weary. My muscles are soo sore, our arms are chafed from paddling and my back is all scraped and bruised. BUT it was so worth it! Such a great time...and the hamburgers we cooked for dinner couldn't have tasted any better. We took a much needed hot tub and chatted the night away. It was an awesome vacay without the kidlets but we couldn't wait to get back to them today. I couldn't give them enough kisses and hugs! I snapped a few pics before we left to get on the river. This just doesn't quite show how pretty it was out there. Enjoy our pics from the weekend!

Happy Camper

We've kept Savannah SUPER busy this summer. Thanks to the wonderful city of Calhoun (and her wonderful aunt and my sister in law Michelle for creating these amazing community camps!) she has experienced some really great stuff. So far she's done Cheer camp, Twirl-a-Whirl Camp, Soccer Camp, and this week we did swim camp and tennis camp! She's such a fish we put her in the 4-5 year old swim camp and she blew those kids out of the water...literally. She had to tell the swim instructors to let her do it alone and when it came time for the diving board where the life guard had been catching all the other kids...she told him to move out of the way and she'd do it. She cracks me up! Miss Independent.

Tennis camp was...HOT. Her attention span for tennis is limited. She was pretty good for the first 30 min but after that she wanted to play with her water. I got some cute pics though of her and her buddy Sarah doing drills.

Michelle sent me these pics from her soccer camp last week. The camp was a success and Savannah really loved hanging out with Lexy!

We went to Eva Hall's 3rd birthday party last week too. It was about 100 degrees so the pool was much needed! The pinata was hilarious. Savannah wacked it pretty good...I love watching the kids scramble to get the candy.

 And lastly kinda random...I had just given E a bath and I laid him in his crib to pick out his clothes for the next day. He looked like such a big boy sitting there!

3 Months Old!

This face...brings a smile to mine every second of every day. The coo's and noises this little boy makes are positively the best sounds I've ever heard. He's 3 months old already! Happy 3 months sweet baby boy! Momma loves you more than she can ever say. XOXO

Happy Birthday America!

We had the best 4th of July holiday EVERRRR! Meme, Baba, and Hunter arrived Wednesday afternoon to spend a whole week with us over the 4th. Savvy was elated to see her fave cousin Hunter and they truly bonded this trip. Hunter is so good with her since he has lots of experience with wee ones and showed her all sorts of neat new things. It was cute to watch her look up to him! We stayed amazingly busy and did some really cute things with the kiddos! We of course enjoyed the amazing July weather although HOT it was fun to play outside! The kids played with bubble guns, the tractor, scooters, the playground, you name it!

And of course we swam! I think that was the fave activity of the week. We spent a ton of time at Barnsley relaxing in the shade and letting the kids swim their hearts out. Hunter carried Savannah all around the pool and she loved swimming with him!

On Friday we took the kids to Lake Winnie. It wasn't crowded at all and surprisingly it didn't feel too terribly hot. Savannah AKA Grace took a huge spill as we walked IN the park and skinned her knees and elbows the poor thing but that didn't slow her down. We rode EVERY ride there and some roller coasters had me fooled for how scary they would be. Hunter and I managed to brave them though and we made it out alive. Seriously that kid has no fear! The water feature there was a life saver after we'd been in the sun for 4 hours. It felt so good to cool down. I decided it would be nice to get my feet wet over a geyser and just as I did that...it shot up...leaving me to look like I'd pee'd my pants. So cute. 

We of course had to burn some cash on some TNT fireworks. Coming from Cali where you can't get them its always fun for them. What better way to burn $100?

We spent Saturday in the ATL. We started at the Imagine It! Kids museum which I must say was disappointing. The one in Chattanooga is WAY better. But we had a good time, I dont think the kids noticed! We got there just in time for a show about working out and staying fit put on ironically but 3 people who didn't necessarily look like they worked out so it was kind of ironic. Savvy loved it and danced and sang with them all. No I'm not shocked...have I said she's a mini me?

And America's Birthday was a ball. We went out the lake to enjoy some great fishing, family fun, GREAT food, and seriously the best fireworks show we've ever seen here. A storm was threatening us from every angle and we truly didn't think we'd get to see the fireworks but we did! From the left you could watch the most amazing, bright streaking lightining and to the right you could see the fireworks. What a show!

It was a great trip, so glad to have everyone here for so long. We kept our schedules busy and the kids had a ball. Savannah and Hunter have a great bond and a week that they'll remember forever!

Soccer camp started Tuesday...I was REALLY hoping she would like it. Every single day at home she asks to kick the soccer ball so I was thinking she would get into it. SHE DID! When we arrived we were standing along the edge of the field watching the highschool team kick with all the other campers and she goes. "mom I'm going to kick with them." and off she went. She said hello to the girl and the rest was history. She loves kicking a soccer ball! She learned to kick in the goal, dribble, do a throw-in which I'm sure she doesn't understand when or why, but nonetheless she can do it. And her fave, to kick it off like a goalie with her hands. Her coach and varsity player was Lexy #25 and she was pretty excited to see her everyday. She bragged everyday how much fun it was and even scored a goal in the scrimage! We may have a little soccer star on our hands. Oh and I blew it and bought cleats that were too big so the first day she had to wear tennis shoes...lets just say the wet field made for a slippery day. She was excited to get her "sticky" shoes on the next day. 

Today Savvy and I went to see Cars 2 in Rome and Daddy and Easton stayed home. We had so much fun! Savannah ate so much candy she was bouncing in her seat the last 20 minutes of the show. And of course...We just had to hit up Toys R Us next door to get some new cars 2 toys to play with. What fun! I love spending time with my girly!
