Spooktacular fun with Nana and Grandpa!

Nana and Grandpa came to visit this weekend! It's also a special weekend because the Annual Harvest fest happens downtown. For the record Savannah has placed in either 1st 2nd or 3rd each year in the costume contest. Its a fun time with lots of food, vendors selling crafts and some live music. This year it was COLD, with a strong blustery wind. To top it off Savannah woke up not feeling well on Saturday morning. We went to the festival but could only last an hour before Savannah spiked a fever and was ready to go home. Poor girl couldn't even sit up, she just wanted to lay down and sleep. So we skipped the contest and headed home so she could get some rest. She rallied after her nap and we decorated Halloween cookies and played. She sure is a trooper. Nana and Grandpa bought us a chiminea too so we can sit outside by the fire. We had a fire pit but it left you stinking like smoke. The chiminea is great and doesn't leave you all smelly! It was great to have them for a visit even if it was a really quick one!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip and Spooky House!

Mini Pygmy goats!!!! Can I pick it up? NO NO Don't pick it up hun...
I took a half day last week and accompanied Savannah and her class on their first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch! 2 very important things I learned....1. while other children can be very annoying other parents are more annoying. 2. A half day with a ton of kids at a pumpkin patch will feel like a much longer half of a day than when you are sitting in your office. All in all we had fun, Savannah kept saying she was so glad I was there with her and that's all that matters! Plus they had goats...and for some reason I just love goats! Baaaahhhhh

The girl on the left didn't only share her hand she ended up sharing a chest cold with Savannah...ugh.
The class acting sweet (momentarily) while listening to the instructions on how to pet the animals.

You pet the animals with 2 fingers, Savannah is demonstrating this technique

Gotta love a tire swing made into a HORSE!

LLAMAS!

Her name is Kissy, and she likes to kiss!

Wish this pic wasnt blury. We're on the "haunted hay ride!"

3yrs olds clearly can't throw a hula hoop 3 times their size.

See I'm doing it with two fingers!

We decorated the house all spooky! Savannah LOVES it!
I had fun decorating the house all spooky for Halloween. I did it while Savannah was napping and when she woke up she was so excited! I just love Halloween! And I bought a carving kit from Target. Kevin said it was a bad idea when he saw it which made me even more determined to make it work. After an hour and half, 6 toothpick to reassemble Elmos eyes that I accidently knocked out, one small cut on my finger, ELMO was READY! I think he looks pretty good for someone like me with absolutely no artistic talent and zero patience. Savannah thinks its super cool so again that's all that matters.
A lil fall foliage on the mantel

Yep I carved an Elmo pumpkin! Go me!

Senior Night fun and a Book Swap!

Tonight at the final regular season Football game it was senior night. The seniors of all the fall sports take the field with their parents and are recognized for their varsity status. We got there early to see Adam take the field with Michelle and Tom. I have to admit I got teary eyed! It seems like yesterday he was 14 and had just arrived here from Poland...I can't believe where his life has gone in such a short time! What a memorable night! Mackenzie his super sweet girlfriend is a varsity cheerleader and was recognized as well. I snapped a pic of her with her fam. She's the pretty girl ;) in the middle.

I got the idea to do a book swap with Savannah from a friend Brooke Willis. We finally got it off the ground today! We had lots of fun decorating our bag and selecting the right books to pass to a friend for a few weeks. She was so excited to see what books Sarah brought her today!
Here she is with Sarahs books. She wanted me to send this photo to "Sarah's moms phone!"
And a couple weeks ago we went to Savannahs school Harvest festival but I haven't shown you pictures yet! We had our normal hot dog and chili dinner with games. It was a fun time and even lil E loved it. He was obsessed with the balloons!

Enjoy our pics of the week!

Mini Majorettes, Smores, and Seabloom Farms!

We're always packing a lot into our weekends. This weekend was no exception. On Friday the big Calhoun Homecoming parade was a ton of fun. Savannah danced in the parade with the mini majorettes. The group she took the summer camp from. I was amazed at how much she remembered from the routines! She was the littlest one but kept up with the bigger girls! The parade was lead by the real majorettes the marching band and then these little ones. It was so cute!

Then with this awesome fall weather I got the hair brained idea that we needed a fire pit and we could make smores! The fire pit was fun but I don't know what I think about smores...maybe I liked them more when I was a kid and eating pure sugar was fun? Savannah had fun though.
Sunday we took the kids to a new Pumpkin Patch in Sugar Valley by my office. They just opened and it was small but really cute. Savannah dressed up in one of her Jessie costumes and brought Bullseye along to the patch. We went through a kid trick or treat corn maze, jumped in a bouncy house, picked out a giant pumpkin, and painted a mini pumpkin! Lots to do at www.seabloomfarms.com
Jessie and her trusty steed Bullseye!

Trick or Treat!

I took some pictures at Soccer academy practice today as well. They have been working on the fundamentals of passing, and calling for the ball, kicking a solid goal, dribbling, all the fun stuff. The past two practices they've been scrimagging. This is hilarious. Sometimes they head to the wrong goal but most times its a cluster of kids until one brave kid gets the ball and runs. Savannah is NOT afraid to take the boys on! She had a breakaway today but started running towards the wrong goal and when she realized it another kid got the ball before she could turn around. I love watching them learn the game, although its hard not to get out there and help!

Phew! Gatorade break!

GOAL!

This kid is clearly worried about Savannah taking the ball...she is on the same team but she didnt seem to care!
Run Savvy Run!
The kids have been great this past week. Easton finally got over his cold and is back to sleeping through the night in his crib. I can't get the boy to eat solids still. I thought we made headway with sweet potatoes but he still really doesn't love it. He coo's and gaa's all the time and I love his sweet voice. Getting him to belly laugh just makes my day. We play Candy Land on average twice a day, and Savannah is ruler of the Candy Castle! We decorated our bag for a fun book swap between Savannah and her buddies and are excited to swap books! It's been a great week! Enjoy our pics!
