The need for speed!

Almost a year ago for Father's Day I bought Kevin 4-6 laps at the Atlanta Motor Speedways Speedtech racing school. It was a Groupon buy and apparently it was SO popular that they were sold out for months. Michelle and Tom bought the same package for Adam for his birthday so we scheduled the guys together. We had gorgeous sunny weather and the guys had a ball. They had an hour or so of racing "school" and after that they got assigned to a car and off they went. Beforehand Kevin and Adam kept talking about how fast they were going to go and making fun of the other people ahead of them that looked like they were going 90...I think I heard one of them say "why come to this and go 90 when you can do that in your car on the interstate?" BOY OH BOY did they eat their words. I do think they got up into the 120s-ish on the straightaways but on the curves they really felt the speed and backed off. You forget that the curves are tilted and pretty tight. It was so fun to watch them race around and their smiles afterwards were ear to ear. I do believe they got the adrenaline rush they were looking for. We are pretty sure Grandad wanted to kill us all for going and we are defintly sure that Nick Sabin would have been MAD if he knew Adam did that so close to the start of the season! The kids really enjoyed it as well, there was lots of space to goof off and the winners circle was a fun place to pose for pics just like Lightining McQueen. KACHOW! What a fun day with the fam!

Spring Fling!

Savannah's school has a Spring Performance every year and its always fun to see the kidlets all dolled up and singing to the entire filled sanctuary of doting parents! This year was cute as can be as the 3 & 4 year olds do their own songs and some together. So super cute! They sang a few songs but the cutest without a doubt was "Praise the Lord" the kid version. They would get really quiet singing the verses and then SCREAM "Praise the Lord" it was hilarious!

Spring happiness!

Wow we've had some great weather the past two weekends! We've spent a ton of time outside, picnicking, playing at the playground, going for walks, and of course running in the sprinklers! Spring has come early and we are not complaining a bit! (even if everything is covered in a tinge of yellow thanks to the copious amounts of pollen) 

We've had a lot of Birthday parties to go to as well. A lot of them have been outside so its so nice to bring the whole fam and enjoy the afternoon. Easton my chubby boy is still scooting around on his butt like a silly little man. He's pulling up a lot and I don't think walking is that far off in his future. Especially because he wants to follow his sister around! He eats like a champ as you can tell from his calves and he is still totally obsessed with his sister. He's a great sleeper and hardly ever waked up in the middle of the night anymore which is SO nice. Savvy is growing up so much each day, telling us elaborate stories that I swear she makes up on the fly. She's calls her brother "little buddy". We're trying to decide what to do about naps these days...she loves them and will sleep for 2 hours sometimes 3 but then at bed time she will play around in her bed until sometimes 10:30 at night (we do bedtime at 8:30)! Its a tough call but I think we may have to stop them soon...I can tell you I really love the quiet time when both kids nap but I don't think its working for her anymore.

And today it was 85 and just gorgeous...Savannah decided it was time to bring out the silly sprinkler and so she stripped off her clothes and into it she went!
