We had such a blast in Savannah this past weekend. It was amazing to get away just the two of us and enjoy a fun city! We decided to drive all the way in on Thursday night and made it to Savannah around 10. We pricelined a hotel and got a great rate downtown. We said "what the heck" lets go out for a drink after we got settled into the hotel...We wound up downtown at the City Market area in a karaoke bar. You could tell this place was a hot spot for local kids. Some of the karaoke people were great, some were HORRIBLE! It was a great laugh and we had a blast people watching. The next day we got up and planned our day, we decided to move on to our new hotel the Marriott riverfront and walk along the river. We ate lunch at a cool little seafood joint where Kevin had his fave oysters on a half shell, and I had an amazing bloody mary. We shopped and walked around forever. It was sooo nice to have no plans! After a full day of being a nerdy tourist we went back to the hotel to get read for dinz at 700 Drayton. A fabulous restaurant that we went to by recommendation of our friends the Willis's. It was super mod, and the food...AMMMAZING! We recommend it to anyone traveling to Savannah. From there we bar hopped like college kids until we realized we couldn't hold up like college kids anymore. The next day we decided to go to Tybee Island. Tybee is a lot like Hilton Head or St. Simons, very pretty and it wasn't too crowded as it isn't really beach season. Kevin had the great idea to rent these beach bikes with huge tires that you can actually ride in the sand with. It was hilarious, we could ride through the water and all the sand. Everyone kept pointing at us and saying, "wow look at the tires on that bike"...ha ha! We had a blast as you can see from the pics. It was a fabulous weekend, and while we were sad to see it come to an end we were ready to see our baby girl. She was very excited to see us which made both our hearts melt.
When we got home yesterday afternoon it was super warm so we decided to take a walk with Savannah. My sister Stacy and her hubby got Kevin one of the new "Tailgate Tested, Tailgate Approved!" Budlight items. If you haven't seen these commercials for the "foozie", or the "Grooler" and other fun items you might need to climb out from under the rock in which you've been hiding. Anyway, this is a dog jacket that carries condiments or beers as Kevin has fondly used it for. You can see Boss was our beer camel on the walk...lol. So funny!
My lovely Hubby had his birthday today! The big 3-4! And to think he doesn't look a day over 25!! Men age well! Happy Birthday to my amazing man and an amazing dad! LOVE YOU!!
Until next week!
