Savannah Smiles!

We had such a blast in Savannah this past weekend. It was amazing to get away just the two of us and enjoy a fun city! We decided to drive all the way in on Thursday night and made it to Savannah around 10. We pricelined a hotel and got a great rate downtown. We said "what the heck" lets go out for a drink after we got settled into the hotel...We wound up downtown at the City Market area in a karaoke bar. You could tell this place was a hot spot for local kids. Some of the karaoke people were great, some were HORRIBLE! It was a great laugh and we had a blast people watching. The next day we got up and planned our day, we decided to move on to our new hotel the Marriott riverfront and walk along the river. We ate lunch at a cool little seafood joint where Kevin had his fave oysters on a half shell, and I had an amazing bloody mary. We shopped and walked around forever. It was sooo nice to have no plans! After a full day of being a nerdy tourist we went back to the hotel to get read for dinz at 700 Drayton. A fabulous restaurant that we went to by recommendation of our friends the Willis's. It was super mod, and the food...AMMMAZING! We recommend it to anyone traveling to Savannah. From there we bar hopped like college kids until we realized we couldn't hold up like college kids anymore. The next day we decided to go to Tybee Island. Tybee is a lot like Hilton Head or St. Simons, very pretty and it wasn't too crowded as it isn't really beach season. Kevin had the great idea to rent these beach bikes with huge tires that you can actually ride in the sand with. It was hilarious, we could ride through the water and all the sand. Everyone kept pointing at us and saying, "wow look at the tires on that bike"...ha ha! We had a blast as you can see from the pics. It was a fabulous weekend, and while we were sad to see it come to an end we were ready to see our baby girl. She was very excited to see us which made both our hearts melt.

When we got home yesterday afternoon it was super warm so we decided to take a walk with Savannah. My sister Stacy and her hubby got Kevin one of the new "Tailgate Tested, Tailgate Approved!" Budlight items. If you haven't seen these commercials for the "foozie", or the "Grooler" and other fun items you might need to climb out from under the rock in which you've been hiding. Anyway, this is a dog jacket that carries condiments or beers as Kevin has fondly used it for. You can see Boss was our beer camel on the walk...lol. So funny!

My lovely Hubby had his birthday today! The big 3-4! And to think he doesn't look a day over 25!! Men age well! Happy Birthday to my amazing man and an amazing dad! LOVE YOU!!

Until next week!

"no" day!

We got quite the snow storm yesterday! For those of you who don't know we dont USUALLY get snow like this. We usually get a few flakes and they never stick to the ground....but this was much different. It started to snow around 12 yesterday afternoon, and this was serious snow. Lots and lots of it filled the sky and it quickly stuck to the ground. The temp dropped and it was the perfect recipe for a snow day! They closed the schools and companies in the area (including mine), and everyone was told to get home safe. I dont think I've ever left work so fast. I couldn't WAIT to play in the snow or "no" as she calls it with Savannah!! We got bundled up and ran out the door, it was sooo fun! We made snowballs, and ran around with the dogs. Marley loved rolling in it, and Boss just ran around like a crazy dog. It was so pretty and white! It was a very wet snow though, we were quickly wet and soggy and had to retreat indoors to watch it from the warmth. Keeping gloves on a toddler is crazy hard! We did get some pictures of the fun though! Today the snow is still covering everything but the sky is a gorgeous blue. SOOO PRETTY! Daddy is making gravy and biscuits and we're hanging out inside! What a great Saturday!

I'll also post pics from when Brody was here and they took a bath together. She loved putting bubbles on his head. And from the following Sunday when we made rice krispie treats only moments before Savannah got sick for the first time. We decided it wasnt a good idea to pass these out to her classmates as I was sure they were laced with the stomach bug. It was still fun to make them though!

Im backlogged on videos too so here are some new videos. We got a new flip so you can how much that changes the quality of the video too! 1st is of our Dance Party in the living room. On the weekends we'll put on the sirius music on the tv and turn the living room into a dance floor. Its so fun!

This is a video of the snow from yesterday with Boss!

I threw a snowball in her face...oops!

Enjoy the pics and vids!!

Recovering Act

Phew! That was a doozy! What was a doozy you ask? The STOMACH FLU a la Palmer Household! OMG...watching your baby violently throw up 17 times, to only 4 hours later watch your husband get struck with the same affliction is one of the sadest things to witness. Who do you take care of? Who needs you more? What can I do to make them more comfortable? WHEN O WHEN will this END? Savannah was a trouper through the whole thing, she wanted so bad to play but the throwing up really got to her. She was so scared each time it happened, and watching her heave...ughhh worst thing ever. We decided the best plan was for Kevin to sleep upstairs in the guest bedroom and I'd sleep with Savannah in case she kept throwing up. We didn't want her to choke or be scared. Finally around midnight it ceased but poor Kevin...thats when his sickness really got bad. I could hear him running to the bathroom above us. Savannah had chosen to sleep ON me while she was sick. She was in definite mommy mode. So it was hard for me to go upstairs and help Kevin. I have to say my husband is the best patient. He never complains, whines, or asks for anything. In fact the whole time he kept asking what he could do for Savannah and I. He was so easy to take care of. He has a hard time resting, which I think led to his sickness lasting 3 whole days. The poor guy lost 10lbs!! He's finally feeling back to his old self today which is so nice. I caught a very mild part of the sickness and it finally hit me Tuesday. I went home at lunch and promptly went to sleep. I think I slept solid until 9am the next morning. I was only mildy ill and am very thankful for this. When we were laying in bed together last night we realized it was so nice to be back to our old routine! Me reading, glass of wine in hand...him watching whatever sporting event is important at the moment, and Savannah fast asleep in her crib...how much we missed the routines of daily life!

So needless to say we didn't watch ONE moment of the Superbowl or see any of the commercials. Was it any good? The commercials I mean.

The weekend before the horrible sickness Brody came to visit Savannah and they had lots of fun playing with all the toys and eating together at her little table. I can't believe the babies are getting so big! I'll post some pics soon of them playing.

One cute note I wanted to add, our friend Sara gave Savannah some little board books that were her daughters. They are the Disney collection. Savannah loves these books and plays with them constantly.  She has decided that Alladin is Daddy, and Mommy is Cinderella. So whenever she gets to these books she'll tell us "Mommy's book" or "Daddy's book". These are the days when you look like a fairy tale princess to your daughter. And Daddy is her prince...This is a time I'll never forget.

Hope you have a HEALTHY weekend. We sure are looking forward to it! XO The Palmers
