Fancy Christmas Party!

Savannah had her school Christmas party last week. The kids were so excited to see us in the room when they walked in. I got the cutest picture of Savannah hugging her daddy! The kids ate lunch while the parents oogled over how cute they were. Then we tried to get a class photo. Anyone who has tried to get a group shot of 2 year olds knows how hilarious this can be. I put the best one below but I also included an outtake because its so funny! Savannah has really seemed to make some great friends in the class I love watching her interact with the other kids.

Libby brought Savannah a present on Wednesday morning. I thought Savannah was going to pee her pants in excitement. She LOVES watercolors and princesses so this was very exciting! We sure love Libby!
Sloans 3rd Birthday  "soiree" was today and it was a Fancy Nancy party. Fancy Nancy has become a large part of our lives lately (she has a lot of books and recently dress up clothes and dolls). I love reading the books because they have big words that the kids say and learn the meaning. Savannah uses the words and it cracks me up! And of course Fancy Nancy loves to look fancy so the girls got all dolled up and got their nails done and decorated cupcakes! It was precious! Savannah wore her fancy outfit the whole party and ate her way through many fancy cookies and cupcakes!

And our little rockstar got yet another early Christmas present from us today. Something else that I couldnt cram in the boxes to Cali. Its a barbie guitar and OMG she hasn't taken it off. She's quite the musical little girl! I'm a barbie girl...in a barbie world....it's fantastic...

Crazy day makes us laugh

Well I don't have any REAL exciting news to share but since I print these for my kiddos I want them to know how life is daily when they are in their 20-30s having children...it's not always a walk in the park but Mom and Dad do know when to laugh.

So yesterday about 5:10p.m. (I will say this day was a very hectic Monday) I'm at my desk at work. I get a call from Mimi AKA Kevins mom I can hear Savannah crying in the background, my heart drops...its the "in pain" cry. She says "are you coming soon?" I reply "yes I was just about to leave, what's wrong?" when really I have a zillion things to do on my desk and I was just starting another long email..."Savannah says her ear hurts and she has a fever, and she hasn't stopped crying for thirty minutes"...Ohhh my poor baby is sick! She was fine when we had lunch 5 hours ago! I shove all my junk into my gigantic tote of a purse and fly out the door. All the while on my drive texting my mom friends and loving sister of 3 who knows all there is to know about babies (don't worry mom I was only texting at red lights...) TEXT MESSAGE: Savannah has her first ear infection, any good tips? Thank god for technology I swear. So when I get there my pitiful girl is still bawling, eyes all puffy, nose running, red with fever...she grips on my neck and I swear there is NO better feeling than being needed as a mom. We get home I get her in some comfy pajamas, get some Motrin, ear drops, and fluids in her, cuddle her on the couch in a warm blanket, get her movie going...all the while she's being so sweet. Encouraging me as we go "Thank you mommy for making me feel better", "I love you so much mommy". Ughhh heart melts...

Hubs comes home we make dinz, Savannah seems to feel better as the night goes on...things seems to be pretty calm. Somewhere in this whirl wind he put the trash on the deck (its like 10 degrees here this week so he was postponing his trip to the trash can), and while I'm doing the dishes he says "uh oh something got into the trash on the deck"...I peak outside "oh man its EVERYWHERE! Are you sure that something isn't one of our dogs?" blank stare...he says "well whatever it was it ate the poop out of Savannahs pull-up"...EW. I hope it wasn't the dog in question because 5 minutes before the gruesome discovery I was cuddling with the little black butt licker. Gross. Well thats fab...he braves the cold to not only take the trash out but pick up every piece as its strewn across the deck. I laugh thinking seriously our dogs are a piece of work.

We finally go in the bedroom to get ready for bed, I walk by the closet and notice another one of our furry friends has caused havoc in the closet. We know exactly who this is because Boss is the only dog goofy enough to do such a thing. He runs in circles in the closet pawing at everything including the low hanging pants, sweaters, shirts, etc... and pulls it all down to make a nice comfy bed for himself on the floor of the closet. We aren't sure WHY he does this...we do have 2 very comfy dog beds he's free to use and of course our couch is free reign. Anyway Kevin admits "I tried to pretend I didn't see that but obviously that didn't work" He goes to work reconstructing our closet. I start to laugh...it just can't get any funnier than this. This giggle fest lasts at least 5 minutes and I have to say...it was the perfect end to a nutty day. We have 2 dogs who without fail do something crazy (the third Marley is an angel and besides pooping on the deck vs. the grass and peeing in her kennel is perfect, yes I know my sense of perfect with her is warped) all on top of a sick kid and two very long days at work. We at least have each other to laugh about it with.

That's it just a post about a very crazy day, and sharing it with the one you love makes it bearable and can even make it a happy pee in your pants moment.

Update on the sickies...I started to feel sick this morning. Savannah and I both went to the Doc. we both have ear infections and sinus infections...figures! Like Nana said though...better this week though than next! Because next week we're Cali bound!

The most wonderful time of the YEAR!!!!!!!!

This has been a festive week for us here. The weather turned SUPER cold which always brings on the feel of the holidays and Savannahs school has had a different Christmas theme everyday. She's learned all the fun Christmas songs and sings them constantly...it's soo cute! We've been bundling up at night and Kevin has been making some great fires. When it gets cold I always wear my fuzzy socks so I got some for Savannah. She loves them but more because she thinks they are "skates" she slides around on the hardwoods like she's in the movie cocktail and its hilarious. I snapped a few pics of her in action. I know one is dark but click on it to enlarge it. Can you tell Boss is looking at her like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING??"

On Thursday night we went to the annual Christmas Parade downtown. This year though Savannah wasn't just a spectator! They asked Mayor Jimmy AKA Grandad and Mimi to be at the front of the parade to kick it off. They asked if Savannah could ride with them which seemed like a great idea. We had already purchased our festive holiday head wear so she was all set. Savannah had picked out the rudolph blinking nose pair and looked so cute with them on. She loved waving to everyone in the parade and she even decided she had a better view if she stood up (this is the picture from behind). It was hilarious to watch her so excited! Taylor and Molly, JT and Adam were also in the parade on the flatbed representing the Yellow Jacket football team and Majorettes!

Today has been especially cold with snow and crazy wind. We did our errands early and Kevin and I are bundled by the biggest snapping fire (thanks to my lumber jack hubby) watching football while Savannah takes her nap. I love Sundays!! Savannah has her Christmas party tomorrow at school which I'm sure will be precious! We only have 11 days until we head west for the Holidays! We can't wait!

Enjoy our pics of the week!

20 Week Check-up!

Easton and I had our 20 week check up today.  I was very excited to see the little guy and get our latest stats. He's doing perfect...everything looked great heart, brain, size, etc...and all of my blood work had come back with negative for any defects or possible syndromes which was also very comforting. The little guy had the hiccups during the ultrasound and it was PRECIOUS to see! It obviously had him very irritated as he wiggled through the entire thing. He's actually measuring big which made me happy considering I'd argued about my actual due date with dr. since day one. Its only a 3 day difference but let me tell you...to a pregnant lady 3 days is a freaking eternity. SO I go back in 2 weeks for yet another u/s to see if he's still measuring big. And yes I'm sure he will. And they move my date up a few days. You may ask why does this matter? I mean its 3 days...well when you have a C Section they schedule it a week prior to your actual due date. SO they don't want to take the baby too early but they also don't want me to go into labor first (c section while in labor is much harder on the baby and the momma.) So we're trying to make sure get the most accurate date possible before we schedule the Birthday of Mr. Easton! Today he weighed 14oz, almost a pound! and was measuring almost 21 weeks in size. I've been feeling great lately and just love feeling the little guy flip around. He was actually head down at this appointment so we'll have to see if he stays that way. Kevin has enjoyed being able to feel him move, I think it makes it more real for him. I forget how REAL it feels for me since I tote him around all day. Overall it was a great appt!

The Calhoun Christmas Parade is tonight and Savannah is riding in a convertible with her Mimi and Grandad the Mayor. If you've been following the weather in the South you know we have what they call an "arctic blast" at the moment and our highs barely top freezing most days so Savannah will be bundled tonight! I hope to catch some cute pics of them, and I'll post this weekend. Tomorrow Calhoun plays Buford in their 3rd match up at the State playoffs in 3 years. I hope they win!!! JT and Adam will play their last game as team mates! Can't wait to see them! We'll be decked out in our Calhoun Yellow Jacket gear down at the Georgia dome.

Enjoy the Pics of our beautiful boy!

Rockin' Cookie Partay!

Saturday we went to Tammy's 8th Annual cookie party! It was super fun as always, and we loaded up on a ton of sugar! Savannah and I made Rocky Road brownies to swap and we dressed up festive to celebrate the day! Savannah had a ball (what kid wouldn't at a cookie party?), and she was the hit of the show! She was even asked to pick out her favorite cookie so that person could win an award! It was very fun and we got pretty loaded up on sugar. I lost count of how many cookies she had, everyone was handing them to her.

Kevin and I went to the Williams annual party last night which was a great time. Good to see friends we only see a few times a year! I hadn't been up until Midnight in about 5 months...it was tough! I guess it was good practice for the new year.

Kevin stayed VERY busy today putting the furniture together in Eastons room. I was SO excited to get it in there in place! I love them! See our progress below. And check out Miss Grumpy Pants. She had just woken up from her nap and didn't want her "face blinked" (the flash). But I snapped one anyway...teeheee!

Enjoy the pics!

Libby got some new duds!

So a post or so back I talked about Libby, our Elf who was given a female name by Savannah. He/She didn't seem to mind but Santa must have thought that Savannah would have enjoyed the Elf much more if she was dressed appropriately in proper Elf Couture (for real the North Pole makes this stuff). SO when we woke up this morning Libby was dressed in a new skirt! She also appeared to have gotten into the libations and was acting goofy...hmmm. The Elf doesn't fall far from the tree! ;)

I also wanted to share my little love all dressed up for Christmas Tree day at school. I love Christmas if I haven't said that gazillion times already. So because of this I've gotten Savannah like 10 Christmas outfits. She'll pretty much wear one every day until Christmas! YAY! This one looked super cute with her Dorothy shoes. She was very excited to wear them again and to show them to her friends at school! This is her "raise the roof" dance!

This little girl still amazes me each day with new things she's learned and will say. Like this morning when she was feeding the dogs she goes. "Look Mommy you made a Volcano with boss' food!"...I think I looked at her with shock and awe because she continued to show me what a Volcano was. I'm not sure whether she got that from the movie The Incredibles or from school but either way I was very proud of her! We're off to a cookie swap party this morning. I'm sure she'll enjoy this!!

Thankfulness Continued...

So we had a great follow up to our Thanksgiving! Today began in the wee hours of the morning as I awoke at 5am to check my phone to see if a friend was able to brave the mobs at Walmart and get a gift I'd wanted to get for Savannah. Once I read my messages I couldnt fall back asleep. Savannah and I got up and headed to shop..what else can you do when your up that early on Black Friday? We shopped and even did our grocery shopping and were home by 11! The rest of the day I spent decorating the house for the best holiday ever! CHRISTMAS! Savannah had a lot of fun hanging up all the ornaments. They ended up all covered in one low corner but that was ok. She really liked the different textures on the "balls", and was even more excited about her very own Christmas tree in her room. We even got new pinkalicious cupcake ornaments to add to it today! I'm exhausted but...we still have 2 more great full days off work to rest! SO Thankful!

AND..All day my fave handymen had been working on Eastons room, I was SO eager to see it! I had to take pictures now that the beadboard is up! They have one more coat of white to do on the beadboard and they're all done! Yahoo! Check out the pics!

Lots to be Thankful for...

Wow...Stuffed doesn't begin to explain it! I doubt Easton has any room in my belly after all the turkey I ate! I opted out of having everyone over to our house and boy was I glad I did. We enjoyed a relaxing day at home, I made a few side dishes, and watched lots of football. We headed over to the Palmers this evening to have dinner with everyone. Savannah gravitated right away to the girls. She loved playing with Taylor, Molly, Aunt Christi, Aunt Cindy, and Mallory. You can see pics of them playing below. Aunt Christi got her a Juicy stocking that she could color and that was a hit. She had everyone help her color it with her and it's quite the masterpiece! It was a great dinner filled with a ton of food, family, and fun!

We also introduced our Elf on a Shelf last night. We didn't want to assist her with naming him so we let her come up with the name. She named him Libby....yep a girl name. Libby happens to be a friend in her class but she named him and was certain that was his name! So Libby he is! This morning he was in the light in the kitchen and tomorrow he'll be hidden somewhere new! I happened to catch him in his new spot so I snapped a picture! I also took a photo of the book that comes with it. We've read the book 5 times already...I think its her fave. If you don't know the story go here. www.elfontheshelf.com . We hope you had a wonderful Turkey day with your family and friends!
