California Girl!

WHEW! What an amazing vacay to Cali!! We started our trip Friday night the 8th of April and headed to Sacramento to stay with Nana and Grandpa Ed in Davis. We decided seeing things in Sacramento would be a fun change since we normally go to their home in Truckee. We rented bikes and a bike trailer so we could ride around Davis and see the sites. The first day we biked to the Farmers Market which was so neat! Davis is a huge farm community so they had an array of fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, and cheese mmmm! There was a guy playing the guitar and it totally caught Savannahs eye...she went up on stage to dance with him. She has such an affinity for music! We played on the playground and bought the FRESHEST apple juice I'd ever tasted! Then we went out to SJS farms to see our Sheep! Get is SJS (Sharon, Jennifer, Savannah)?? Isn't that cute? We have a ton of sheep now and this was Savannahs first time meeting them. The one that is in EVERY pic is Paris, she is not camera shy! She loves the treats and is very gentle. We got to feed all the sheep and ride around the property of Superior Farms. Sheep are such gentle animals, it was fun getting to know them upclose. She is quite the little farmer girl now! The weather wasn't the sun and heat we had hoped for but we made the best of our days. We didn't let a little water get us down! We found the most amazing mall in Roseville and definitely did a little Retail Therapy! They had 2 big play areas for kids complete with a Bob the Builder tractor which pretty much made Savannahs day! After all the rain subsided we went home and played in the yard with bubbles, balls, and playdough! She loved making "baby circles" with Nana and "worms" with mommy. Then we decided it would  be fun to play in the puddles. The rain can be lots of fun! We splashed and splashed, she had a blast! We got a great pic of her in the air about to make a huge splash! Such a tomboy! We made Cupcakes one night that look like sheep! Complete with marshmallow fur and jelly bean limbs. My mom and I might not be the most artsy people so we laughed our butts off while doing this. Some of the sheep looked a little creepy but it was still fun to do! We played and played until she was so worn out she didn't make a peep when we put her to bed. It was a great visit with Nana and Grandpa Ed. I wish we could do it more often....:(

On Tuesday sadly we had to leave Davis and head down to Socal to visit with Meme and Baba. We went to the beach and the park the first day we were there. She had a blast "watching the ocean" and Baba and Memes house in the flight path for the military helicopters/planes that go from Pendleton to Coronado so we saw a new helicopter or plane every 10 min! This was very exciting!! We went to the San Diego Zoo the next day which was great. Going to the zoo mid week is the best way to see it. There wasn't a sole there and we were able to bring her cousin Bennett along. The kids loved seeing all the animals, especially the elephants! It's amazing how close you can get to them. Meme bought Bennett and Savannah matching stuffed elephants that we named "Ellie" and "Phante" get it?? He he he! I'm a nerd I know. The petting zoo was so cool, the kids got to pet and brush all the sheep, and goats. Savannah was a pro already of course so this was fun. It was a great time showing Savannah to zoo I grew up with. The next day we relaxed and I went to the park with Savvy, and my sister Stacy. We got food and sat on the grass at Powerhouse. This park is awesome because it overlooks the beach and the playground is great! It was an awesome afternoon spending some QT with my sis. We got some pics taken of the kids that night by Mel at San Dieguito Park, I can't wait to see those! The next day we went to LEGOLAND!! OMG...the BEST theme park for kids 2-8 years old. Luckily Savannah is tall and a lot of the rides are 36" and taller. So we went on almost all of them! She had so much fun! I loved watching her on the cars, airplanes, choo choos, helicopters and more! She loves these so to be able to go on them is so exciting! We brought Hunter too which was so wonderful. He's the sweetest, most loving boy. I love my nephew so much! I cannot wait for him to come to Georgia in July! He's wonderful with Savannah too I love watching him interact with her. There was one funny ride where you can steer boats through this course. You actually steer, there isn't a track. So Kevin decide he'd take Savannah on this one. Well of course she can't steer and get through the course but she would NOT let Kevin steer. They'd crash into walls, almost go backwards, it was hilarious! So I took a pic of her pitching a fit because Kevin was trying to help. I was cracking up...he he he! The last evening we had a cocktail party and all my friends came over to visit with us and see Savannah. It was wonderful to see everyone!!

Eggstravaganza!

Today was Easter Sunday and we had a very exciting visit from the Easter bunny! This morning when Savannah woke up she discovered the Easter bunny had hidden eggs filled with "beans" AKA Jelly Beans all over the living room! AND he'd left 2 baskets for her...one delivered from Nana and Grandpa Ed! She had so much fun finding all her eggs! She got lots of fun things from the Easter bunny like flash cards, a purse, crayons and a new coloring book. And she got a magnetic doll set from Nana and Grandpa Ed along with a precious outfit. She made out like a bunny bandit! We headed to Larry the Egg Man's family farm to hunt easter eggs in the afternoon. Like I said last year...this is the real deal. They hide over 900 REAL dyed eggs in the fields. The have a separate area for the little kids where the eggs are a little easier to find. It was so much fun to watch her go after those eggs. She eventually told me to carry her easter basket because it was "too heavy." She found 22 eggs including one that was gold and had a $1 bill in it, when she opened it she yelled "awesome!" Wonder where she gets that? :) This weekend was perfect for being outside, in fact I don't think we stayed inside for long at all. I've attached some pics of Savannah playing with her new puppy bubble guns and playing with sidewalk chalk. We grilled outside, sat outside, I stained a bench we used in our wedding, Kevin did yard work, I just love spring! I hope you and yours had a wonderful Easter weekend! We sure did!!
