Is Mommy Ready?

SO its a typical day home from work for Kevin...I follow him into the bedroom as I tell him about Savannahs and I's adventures of the day. He nods and smiles...how exciting is it as I explain her poopy diaper in every detail? Anyway I continue...and sit on the bed patting Marley as I pop the big question.

(heck no we aren't ready for another baby! If thats what you're thinking!!!)

"So when do you think Savannah is ready to sleep upstairs in her crib at night?" His head pops from around the bathroom door..."um well I think she's proving she's ready now!" I look at him enquisitively "now?" He says, "well isn't she napping there now? Honey, I think the question is if MOMMY is ready, not Savannah." Ok he has me. Darn. I'm not ready. Shamelessly NOT ready. I want her to stay tiny forever, sleep next to mommy forever. Uhhhh, I never thought I'd be this sappy or weepy about something seemingly so simple.

Who's going to make sure she clears her throat ok when she coughs?

Who's going to move her paci when it pokes her in the face (see photo of my view from my pillow)

Who's going to touch her soft little cheek in the middle of the night to let her know its ok and mommy is right here?

It's not simple...she's sleeping next to me for now. Until....well Im ready. And if she's 16 OH WELL!
She can sleep with mommy forever...my sweet baby girl...always.

Hey Pretty Girl!

Last Tuesday I learned that Stacy was coming to visit us on Thursday! It was very exciting news, as Savannah has been hearing about her Aunt Stacy for quite some time now. It was a FABULOUS visit, Stace was able to spoil and love all over her. She came bearing tons of gifts (clothes of course, what every girl needs) and Savannah managed to wear most of them during her visit. We took several tours around Calhoun, and mostly spent time chatting and sitting on the front and back porches of my house. We caught up and laughed like old times. We also made out way out to the flower fields in Sugar Valley where we took some cute pics until Savannah had enough and started to cry her little head off. She totally had a meltdown so I thought it was funny...Ha!

Stacy also taught me the 100 uses of Vinegar in your house...do you know them? Oh my goodness what great info. I have used it all over the house and I'm soooo happy. Who knew? Stacy you'd be happy to know I bought a HUGE 5 gallon thing of it and I've since washed my floors, walls, done more laundry...and who knows what else.

The rest of the week Savannah and I spent catching up on errands and dodging some really sketchy "TORNADIC" (yes this is a word the weather people use it) weather. The weather is the one thing I hate about the south. It scared the (BLANK) out of me! I spent several hours in the middle of our house with Savannah in her carrier and the dogs on leashes trying to decide if I should retreat to the basement which has mice at the moment so I REALLY didn't want to go down there...eww miceville.

My mom and Ed come in today...actually they are here now on their way to the Houn. They are staying through the weekend and leave Monday when my dad and Michelle arrive. Welcome to Hotel Palmer (pronounced PALM-AIR with a french accent). We are so happy to have all the visitors, Savannah wont know what to do with herself and all the attention she's about to get!

I'm off to a tennis match! Enjoy the pics of the week!

Meanwhile in the rainforest...

Hello all! Things are still doing fab! Last week we had a play date with the Richardsons twin boys Max and Rex. Savannah was awake for alot of it and was able to show off her tummy time skills. The boys were fascinated with her, and even helped with her paci (see photos).

I've taken to having Savannah wear big bows on her bald little head. They are soo cute! These will have to do until she gets some hair on her head. She's been loving her play mat and tummy time. We started her tummy time at a few minutes when she was a week or so old. She didn't last long she start to cry in frustration that she couldnt hold up her head. But not now! She'll play on her tummy for 10-15 minutes. Its like a little baby workout for her neck and back! So fun!

I've also been wearing her in her sling since the beginning and she's graduated to a more upright position so she can see out while I do things around the house. I attached a pic of her hanging in her sling while I cleaned the kitchen. She gets sleepy hanging out with mommy so she's taking a cat nap in the pic. Don't you love my lil kangaroo baby?

What a great week its been! And It's getting better my sister Stacy flies in today! Yay! She hasn't been here since our wedding, Im elated! She'll get to meet her first neice, and love all over her! Yay!
Have a good rest of the week!

Our Little Love Bug!

I just can't stop taking pictures of her, I just can't help it. Well...look at that face! Could you? Another week...another bunch of firsts. What a great baby...I know I know all moms say that. But REALLY. She's just well PERFECT. Sleeps GREAT, she's totally on a schedule, just happy happy!

This week she started taking her afternoon naps in her crib which was very exciting for me. All that work in her nursery, I really wanted her to enjoy it. Not sure that she fully grasps it all yet, but I think she looks mighty cute in there!

Poor Boss..Lady took a chunk out of his ear on Tuesday (likely over a squirrel) which resulted in a rush to the vet...which then resulted in a huge elizabethan collar and many bandages...not to mention a sizable vet bill. YES we have 3 dogs and a baby...YES we're crazy....BUT no we wouldn't change it for the world. I've attached a pic of him looking pitiful, notice Lady in the background still hunting the squirrels in the tree she doesn't give up. What a week with a newborn and a dog like Boss (the spaz) in a collar like that. He would knock everything over, including chairs, ironing boards, drinks....anything his level. It was terrible. He'd almost take me out when I was walking. Thankfully we took the bandages and collar off today. He's doing much better and my bruises and scrapes should heal soon.

Savannah and I are getting lots of use out of our jogging stroller. We've taken several walks at the park, and the weather has been perfect. Its SO nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine. I know little Savvy likes it too, even when she' sleeps through the entire thing. She even wears her little jogging sweatsuit, of course she dresses the part.

She is also loving her nightly baths and massages. Kevin doesn't quite understand why he doesn't get massages too but he'll learn. I've attached some pics of Savannah in her Doggy bath wrap from Susan. Its soo cute, it even has her name embroidered on it. We love our little puppy!

Enjoy the pics of the week! We love everyone!
