Well lets just say the 10 days I was away were the LONGEST 10 days of my life. It was all work, little play. And I missed Kevin and Savannah SO much! I did get a chance to have a great dinner with Hunt, KK, Alyssa, and Mikeala and we followed it up with a super fun time at a Charger bar next to their apartment. Who knew there were so many charger fans in Gramercy Park? Im so glad to be home, I can't even tell you. Being away really makes you appreciate the ones you love and what you have. Absence makes the heart grow fonder is a great quote I must say. Kevin and I realized how much we appreciate what we do to keep Savannah happy and provided for. Single parents get all the kudos in the world! And of course we realized how much we miss one another when we're away for that long....sappy I know. But I love him with all of my heart! He's such a great dad, Savannah is a daddy's girl for sure.
Savannah and I head west on Thursday to visit the fam, and so the girlies and I can go wine tasting in temecula to celebrate Kendall's and I's bdays! Yayyyy! Last night we had over the Palmers and the Reese's to watch the Georgia game! Savannah and Blair got to play and it was soooo cute! Blair loved Savannahs piano and thankfully Savannah was gentle for the most part. Although she did try to sit in her lap to read her a book...lol. Blair is so big now I can't believe she's sitting up and playing like a big girl already. It was great to have everyone over! We're also glad the DAWG's Killed Arkansas!

Eventhough it was dreary most of the weekend, we had a great day of heat and sunshine today! So we had to play outside with our new floppy flower water sprinkler that Baba bought Savannah, and on her water table. I think I wore her out she is still napping and its almost 6pm! We had a WONDERFUL 3 day weekend, and Im so sad to be leaving them both on Wednesday. Only bright side is after I get back I wont have to go away on a long trip again until February! AS we transition to Fall (my favorite season) it makes me think back through the past few months. We have had a wonderful summer! Complete with perfect weather, playing in the water, going to the beach, lots of swimming, and watching our little baby girl grow up into a toddler! She's changed so much in the past month, doing everything on her own. She now has an opinion on what shoes she wants wear, she mimics EVERYTHING we do and say, she can do somersaults on her own (video below, she took tiny tot gym so dont worry she tucks her chin to her chest), loves jewelry, has a deep love for Blue's Clues, and has grown into quite the daddy's girl!
The other day I was changing a very stinky diaper, and I kept going "shoooooooeeeeeeweeeee stinky girl" and waving my had back and forth in front of my nose. Sure enough after I was done, she repeated that same thing over and over. Its hilarious!
She wont eat anything unless SHE puts it in her mouth herself which leads to quite large messes!
Meme and Baba came to see us last weekend! We had such a fun time, as usuall! We went to the Tellus museum one day which has been totally redone. We thought Savannah would enjoy a planetarium movie (we were very wrong!) So her and I stepped outside and played in the interactive kids area. We went shopping and got her some very cute fall clothes, and Baba and Meme watched Savannah while I was at work on Friday and Monday. She had so much fun with them, and now repeats the phrase "Baba" all the time. We can't wait to go to Cali in 3 weeks and see everyone!
We're hanging out this afternoon at home watching the Dawgs kick OK States butt and playing. Savannah has her Dawg's cheer down and she'll watch the game on daddy's lap (for a few downs anyway) So thankful its a 3 day weekend, I need the extra R&R as I leave for New York on Wednesday and Im there for 10 days! The only plus side is I'll be able to have extra time with my NY friends, AND I get to go to the first fundraiser and auction for Mikeala's movie! I feel like I always miss things like this so Im VERY excited!!

Savannah also said the cutest thing ever tonight. Kevin and I had been away for the weekend in Augusta for another state tennis tournament. When we came home and were playing in the living room, I looked at her and said "I Love you Savannah". She looked back and said "I love you"! Happiest moment ever!!!! Lots of new words now, she says Adam (for her cousin), Michelle (for her aunt), Sam (for Christi and Ricks Dog), Flower, Butterfly (in a very funny way), Hot, Fan and Now I love you!
Waiting my turn to whack the ball! Hit it over there! Ball Queen Darlene and Kevin had Savannah down at the courts last week when Darlene was giving a lesson. Savannah already has her own racket and practice balls. She has a wicked swing! She loved telling everyone what to do. I think she's going to be a Tennis Princess!

July has been HOT HOT HOT! Which means lots of front porch time, water table fun, running in the sprinklers, and pool parties! My mom came to visit us last weekend, which was such a wonderful surprise! She was working on the East coast so she flew down to see us! We had a great time shopping, and making window treatments! I love having a partner in crime! She watched Savannah for us on Friday too, which Savannah loved! They went on a walk, went to the park, and had tons of fun playing. So great to have her with us.
Sadly on Monday when I went to get Savannah out of bed I realized she was running a high temp! When I took it I got so worried! It was 103! Ahhhh! After a few calls to the dr. we laid in bed and slept off the pain. This was her first sickness, and it just broke my heart! I've never seen her so weak and tired. She could barely walk, she would fall over after every step. So sad! Ughhh so glad the antiobiotics kicked in and kicked the strep throats butt! And Im so so so glad I had my own mommy there to keep me relaxed and go to the dr. with us! Great timing for sure.
We're all back to feeling good and we're enjoying our sunny weekend!
Some fun new things Savannah is doing now. If you ask her if she has a poopy diaper she points at her butt and says poo poo if she does! Much better than the smell check I must say. She says Boss now, still working on Lady. She LOVES to wave "baaah baaah" when your leaving a store. She'll yell it until someone acknowledges her. So cute!
Savannah had her 15 month check up yesterday. She weighs 24lbs and is 33 inches long...still trucking in the 90th percentile for height. We knew this because the girl towers over other babies her age. And she's in 75th for weight (lay off the mac n cheese savannah...ha ha j/k). She didn't mind the shots too much, she had a fleeting breathless scream but what really ticked her off and kept her attention was the care bear band aid they gave her when they pricked her finger. When they did it she gave a hard look to the nurse like "what was that lady?", and when she saw the band aid she got even more mad. "come on the care bears?" I could hear her thinking..."at least give me Dora the Explorer, or Diego, or my favorite Blue's Clues, I'd even take Barbie...but the care bears? What is it 1980?"
