Fall Festival with Nana and Grandpa!

We've had such an great weekend with Nana and Grandpa here! The weather has been winterish one day and summer the next. They get to see what all the seasons are like here! We went to the Fall Festival on Saturday and Savannah won 2nd in the Costume Contest! She was such a "ham" in her pig costume. They wanted all the kids to stand in a line so the judges could see them, but Savannah had other plans. She danced,  jumped, shook her butt, clapped, danced...she was having a ball. The audience and the judges thought she was hilarious! Sunday we went to the Pumpkin Patch Farm in Adairsville. There werent many pumpkins left, I guess thats what happens when you wait until the weekend before Halloween! But we did have fun playing with the wheelbarrow and all the fun props.It's been such a wonderful weekend, I hate for it to come to an end!

We're home!!

Last weekend Savannah and I headed west for a great visit with the fam and some much needed girl time with my besties! We were celebrating my Bday and my lovely friend Kendalls! We went to Temecula to the Annual Ponte Family Winery Grape Stomp. It was so fun! I love my friends, eventhough we don't get together as often as we'd like. We make up for it in the trips we do take. From line dancing at Stampede, champagne poolside, lots of girl talk, and of course the grape stomp competition. Hill and Kyle pulled out the win for the entire festival!! I lost my voice from screaming for them. It was such a blast! Spending time with my dad and Michelle and all the family was wonderful too. Friday we had everyone over to celebrate my bday and I got to meet baby Lyla! She is so tiny, I barely remember Savannah being that small. Bennett, Hunter, and Savannah had so much fun playing together. Hunter is so good with the little ones, and he's growing up so fast. Stacy, Gabe, Grant and Zoe came over too, and it never ceases to amaze me at how big they are. Where does the time go? So wonderful to be able to see all my lovely fam for my birthday. Thank you everyone who came over, it meant the world! Meme and Baba kept Savannah while I went with my girlfriends and they totally bonded this trip. Savannah has their names down now, and she fell in love with them both. Im so glad they got to spend the one on one time with her.

Then when I came home I discovered fall had arrived here in North Georgia. We have had some brisk mornings and the humidity is diminishing. I LOVE fall in case I haven't said that before. Fall to me means hot tea, crockpot soups, sweaters (yay!), carving pumpkins, turkeys, pies, sitting by the fire, football!, falling leaves, and just an overall feeling of warmth. We had a gorgeous weekend hunting out yard sales (check out savannahs new piano!), making yummy breakfasts, watching football, cooking brunswick stew mmm, and just enjoying each others company. With all the travel lately it was sooo nice to be home. My puppies missed me for sure and I made sure to show them extra love this weekend as well. I'm so glad to be home and don't see any travel in the near future...yay!

What's new with Savannah...she talks NONstop. She has so many new words, and she talks so frequently its hard to remember them all. New ones recently are "meme" for michelle, "memaw" for darlene, marley (finally!), queso for cheese, book, diaper (when she poops she makes sure i know), and so many more. This girl is definelty independent. Wonder where she gets that from? Both of us for sure!

Home Sweet Home...so true!

Well lets just say the 10 days I was away were the LONGEST 10 days of my life. It was all work, little play. And I missed Kevin and Savannah SO much! I did get a chance to have a great dinner with Hunt, KK, Alyssa, and Mikeala and we followed it up with a super fun time at a Charger bar next to their apartment. Who knew there were so many charger fans in Gramercy Park? Im so glad to be home, I can't even tell you. Being away really makes you appreciate the ones you love and what you have. Absence makes the heart grow fonder is a great quote I must say. Kevin and I realized how much we appreciate what we do to keep Savannah happy and provided for. Single parents get all the kudos in the world! And of course we realized how much we miss one another when we're away for that long....sappy I know. But I love him with all of my heart! He's such a great dad, Savannah is a daddy's girl for sure.

Savannah and I head west on Thursday to visit the fam, and so the girlies and I can go wine tasting in temecula to celebrate Kendall's and I's bdays! Yayyyy! Last night we had over the Palmers and the Reese's to watch the Georgia game! Savannah and Blair got to play and it was soooo cute! Blair loved Savannahs piano and thankfully Savannah was gentle for the most part. Although she did try to sit in her lap to read her a book...lol. Blair is so big now I can't believe she's sitting up and playing like a big girl already. It was great to have everyone over! We're also glad the DAWG's Killed Arkansas!

Summer isn't really over!

Eventhough it was dreary most of the weekend, we had a great day of heat and sunshine today! So we had to play outside with our new floppy flower water sprinkler that Baba bought Savannah, and on her water table. I think I wore her out she is still napping and its almost 6pm! We had a WONDERFUL 3 day weekend, and Im so sad to be leaving them both on Wednesday. Only bright side is after I get back I wont have to go away on a long trip again until February! Sweet Summer Coming to an end...

AS we transition to Fall (my favorite season) it makes me think back through the past few months. We have had a wonderful summer! Complete with perfect weather, playing in the water, going to the beach, lots of swimming, and watching our little baby girl grow up into a toddler! She's changed so much in the past month, doing everything on her own. She now has an opinion on what shoes she wants wear, she mimics EVERYTHING we do and say, she can do somersaults on her own (video below, she took tiny tot gym so dont worry she tucks her chin to her chest), loves jewelry, has a deep love for Blue's Clues, and has grown into quite the daddy's girl!

The other day I was changing a very stinky diaper, and I kept going "shoooooooeeeeeeweeeee stinky girl" and waving my had back and forth in front of my nose. Sure enough after I was done, she repeated that same thing over and over. Its hilarious!

She wont eat anything unless SHE puts it in her mouth herself which leads to quite large messes!

Meme and Baba came to see us last weekend! We had such a fun time, as usuall! We went to the Tellus museum one day which has been totally redone. We thought Savannah would enjoy a planetarium movie (we were very wrong!) So her and I stepped outside and played in the interactive kids area. We went shopping and got her some very cute fall clothes, and Baba and Meme watched Savannah while I was at work on Friday and Monday. She had so much fun with them, and now repeats the phrase "Baba" all the time. We can't wait to go to Cali in 3 weeks and see everyone!

We're hanging out this afternoon at home watching the Dawgs kick OK States butt and playing. Savannah has her Dawg's cheer down and she'll watch the game on daddy's lap (for a few downs anyway) So thankful its a 3 day weekend, I need the extra R&R as I leave for New York on Wednesday and Im there for 10 days! The only plus side is I'll be able to have extra time with my NY friends, AND I get to go to the first fundraiser and auction for Mikeala's movie! I feel like I always miss things like this so Im VERY excited!!
