Kiddo Brag Sesh

Ok so sometimes I get carried away just writing about what we did and I forget to write about the day to day stuff that soon I'll forget but is equally just as important! Little Easton is still such a sweetie. Very different from Savannah in that he prefers to be held, LOVES to sleep with me (we're working on breaking that habit), but still have great long stretches of sleep at night. The other night he freaked me out because we went to sleep at 11 and at 5:15 I awoke to confusion because he hadn't been up yet! I thought "oh no...he's in the bed right? But where? Wait did I put him in the bed? Where is he? Why hasn't he woken up to eat yet?" I saw him in the cradle and went to grab him which promptly woke him up...which I'm sure he would have kept sleeping had I not grabbed him out of fear. So he slept 6+ hours which I wasn't expecting yet! He's starting to "coo" which cracks me up, he's had some awake fleeting smiles. I simply can't wait until he smiles at ME on purpose. He smiled at Baba when we were in Cali, and then at Meme...I'm secretly jealous. Or I guess it isn't a secret anymore now huh? The dogs are great with him, just want to know who the screecher is in the corner. Savannah is still a huge helper, grabbing paci's, diapers, burp cloths, whatever I need. We've spend several mornings all snuggling in bed which I absolutely adore. She's getting good at burping him and gets very excited when he gives her a big burp! She's been putting on shows with her Woody and Buzz dolls for him which keeps him very entertained. Mimi watched the two kids this week for a couple of hours while I went into the office for a few things. She realized how nutso it is with two but she loved the one on one time with them. Being at work made me realize how much I like being there, but how anxious I'll be when I actually do go back to work. I had a death grip on my cell just waiting for her to call me and say they needed me. Ughh the stresses of being a working mom. Savannah asked for bread with dinner last night. WHAT? Yeah Savannah has NEVER eaten bread, and hates it. So when she asked for it with dinner I was shocked but very happy. I can't wait to give that kid a proper PB&J! And then this morning she asked for milk in her cereal. Nope she doesn't eat milk in her cereal either...weird huh? I was so excited she was going to eat cereal like a normal person. She really liked it! Have we turned a corner miss picky-pickerson? That is yet to be seen. She still had to pick the color straw that went in her yogurt smoothie drink this morning and I had to cut it "just right" thanks Nana....Well its a gorgeous afternoon, it was over 90 today so I hear the front porch calling our names. If the kids will ever wake from their naps!

Go Superior Farms Red Sox!

When we signed Savvy up for Tball we just knew she'd love it...she loves to run...enjoys hitting the ball off the tee in the yard. It was perfect. Well the first practice was "ehhh" she wasn't in love with the game and cried for about 10 minutes when it started....each practice was a little better. The first game she got bored then wanted to quit after 10 min, second game went well until she collided with another kid. Maybe Tball wasn't such a good idea? Kevin is coach though so we can't bail out now. Then our 4th game comes...and BAM! She's SO into it. She positioned herself to get grounders, hit great, ran after the ball, heckled the batters which cracked me up, and of course played in the dirt. This may have something to do with the game being at 6pm versus 7pm but she had so much fun! The photos tell the story...

Run Savvy Run!!

What kid doesn't play in the dirt during Tball?

She's running to home...without the ball? And she was the pitcher?

Ok she did wear the glove on her head.

This photo is hilarious...both girls in mid air!

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEAH!

Every single kid on the team running after the ball..

She does keep her eye on the ball!
Lets go!

Mommas Day

These posts are a little out of order but what the heck...

We're not really sure why Kevin is so far away from everyone else, and she totally cut off Easton on the bottom in his carrier...

This Mother's day was extra special for me as I'm now the proud mom of 2 kiddos and my own mom was here to celebrate with us! We decided a nice day relaxing and a lunch at the famous Bowman's was in order. We spent the day playing outside with the kids. It truly was the best moms day! And funny thing...my mom and I got eachother the same gift! This isn't the first time that has happened.

Happy Mother's Day!

I left my heart in...San Diego

It never fails...when I leave I cry. I'm sure my kids will get the inability to say goodbye without getting choked up from me...in fact I hope they do. It makes me savor the moments with my far away friends and family more because I so dread saying goodbye to those I love so dearly. Saying goodbye happens a lot when you live 3000 miles from most your friends and fam. That's how I got the title for the post.

Well...It started off with a crazy awful goodbye to my mom...as you know she had been here for 4 weeks. Taking care of our every need. She was flying out the same time we were so we packed up the car and headed to the airport together. The only positive note was that we (Kevin, Jen, Savvy, and Lil E) were at least headed to be with more family and I wasn't left to a mom-less house like when she left when Savvy was a month old. BUT it truly didn't make the goodbye any easier. The hardest part for me is thinking how much bigger my kids will be the next time they see them...all the more reason to plan another trip right around the corner though right? We said our tearful goodbyes and The Palmer Fam (yes I'm talking in 3rd person) headed to SD. We dreaded the flight because of the massive amounts of luggage we needed with a 3 year old and a newborn and because we knew how bad a flight can be with an unhappy crying kid. Not that we've been there ourselves but we've sure witnessed a few in our day. Plane ride was going well...3 hours into the flight I get up to change Easton...he's been out like a light the whole time and Kevin and I have been alternating holding him until our arms are numb. He starts to undress him to speed up the changing process and what does he find in the foot of his pajamas??? POOP. Yup...he'd blown it out. SWEET! When he picks him up to inspect the severity we realize it had coated just about everything in sight. So I take the poopster to the bathroom to stick him in the sink...just kidding. As I get into the pinky toe of a bathroom the plane starts to shake, the captain comes on the overhead and says " I'd like everyone to take their seats we've hit some rough air". Um sure let me walk my poop covered kid, and hands back to my seat!? NOT. SO we proceeded to do the tango in the bathroom. Me trying desperately to change a poop covered Easton while he screams like I'm hurting him, as the plane does doughnuts in the sky. Where is the flight attendant call button? I need wine. In the bathroom. STAT. But seriously...The kids were pretty good on the long flight and I managed to keep myself from holding up the stewardess for all her wine. We landed thankfully all in our changes of clothes and were happy to be in sunny So Cal. Even the air smells sunny there...something about this place. Savannah refused to give in to her cold at this point and wanted to swim so we packed up and headed to the pool to swim and have lunch in the sunshine. That night the big family came over to greet us and unfortunately pick up some of Savannahs germs. Good times. The next day we headed to Sea Life Aquarium to check out the fish which was pretty fun and then we went to lunch at Rimels where Brett is the manager. Savannah got pretty ill at this point and I finally convinced our pediatrician to call us in antibiotics. THANK GOODNESS. After a triple dose of drugs she was back to her normal self! YAY!

The next day we headed to the beach, it was a beautiful cloudless sky and the beach was just calling our name! There is a great park and beach that I used to frequent when I grew up there and its perfect for kids. We had a picnic lunch (with my fave Robertos) and then frolic'd in the water. The water was only 60 degrees so it wasn't great for swimming but it was fun to splash in.

A Seashell!!!

This is how Easton enjoyed the beach

Playing at the Park with Dad

Baba, Moni, Jack Jack, Adi, and us went to Lego Land on Friday. Moni took the day off work and we had such a fun time riding all the rides and Jack Jack and Savvy were so freaking cute holding hands running around!
Jack Jack wasnt too sure about this ride..Kevin liked it though

Adi before she realized mom was gone

Savvy and Baba had fun on this one!

Her eyes in this one crack me up!

She loves to drive

Super slide

I just love it

How Easton enjoyed Lego Land...see a trend?

The whole purpose of this trip west though was for my Besties wedding and Friday night the festivities started. The rehearsal, wedding, and seeing my friends was so GREAT! Kristen was a gorgeous bride and her and Skyler are a beautiful couple. We were so happy to be there for the special weekend. AND, I love all my girlies and seeing them just made me so happy it had truly been way too long. Good times!

On Sunday we had a Meet Baby Easton Party and all the caring friends and family we have came over my parents house. Easton loved being held by everyone...and when I say everyone...I mean everyone. I do think however that Kendall and her hubs Kevin liked holding him most (wink wink).
