Mini Majorettes, Smores, and Seabloom Farms!

We're always packing a lot into our weekends. This weekend was no exception. On Friday the big Calhoun Homecoming parade was a ton of fun. Savannah danced in the parade with the mini majorettes. The group she took the summer camp from. I was amazed at how much she remembered from the routines! She was the littlest one but kept up with the bigger girls! The parade was lead by the real majorettes the marching band and then these little ones. It was so cute!

 Then with this awesome fall weather I got the hair brained idea that we needed a fire pit and we could make smores! The fire pit was fun but I don't know what I think about smores...maybe I liked them more when I was a kid and eating pure sugar was fun? Savannah had fun though.

Sunday we took the kids to a new Pumpkin Patch in Sugar Valley by my office. They just opened and it was small but really cute. Savannah dressed up in one of her Jessie costumes and brought Bullseye along to the patch. We went through a kid trick or treat corn maze, jumped in a bouncy house, picked out a giant pumpkin, and painted a mini pumpkin! Lots to do at www.seabloomfarms.com

I took some pictures at Soccer academy practice today as well. They have been working on the fundamentals of passing, and calling for the ball, kicking a solid goal, dribbling, all the fun stuff. The past two practices they've been scrimagging. This is hilarious. Sometimes they head to the wrong goal but most times its a cluster of kids until one brave kid gets the ball and runs. Savannah is NOT afraid to take the boys on! She had a breakaway today but started running towards the wrong goal and when she realized it another kid got the ball before she could turn around. I love watching them learn the game, although its hard not to get out there and help!

The kids have been great this past week. Easton finally got over his cold and is back to sleeping through the night in his crib. I can't get the boy to eat solids still. I thought we made headway with sweet potatoes but he still really doesn't love it. He coo's and gaa's all the time and I love his sweet voice. Getting him to belly laugh just makes my day. We play Candy Land on average twice a day, and Savannah is ruler of the Candy Castle! We decorated our bag for a fun book swap between Savannah and her buddies and are excited to swap books! It's been a great week! Enjoy our pics!

First ills and a Booster for Baby and Me!

So I have really started weaning Easton the past few weeks. With our upcoming trip to BVI and the shear fact that he's almost 6 months made it an easy decision. Like with Savannah I knew once I started weaning he'd get sick. Sure enough this week he came down with his first cold. I actually took him to get his first immunizations on Tuesday as well...poor guy was coming down with a cold and I didn't know it. So he's been pretty sickly the past few days. Not sleeping well then sleeping all day, and hardly eating. He doesn't seem to know what will make him happy. I feel bad for the little nugget, I want my smiley boy back! I also am having a very hard time getting him to eat baby food. Weird huh? Savannah loved it, he hates it. It usually makes him gag and throw up. So far we've tried apples and bananas. He's not a fan...Everything I've read says to keep at it and eventually he'll get used to it. That is yet to be seen folks...He's a whopping 19lbs now and the cutest thing ever. You can always get him to smile or keep him entertained if you ask his big sister to help. He loves to be outside, take walks, chews on anything and everything, and has the softest blonde hair. I just love him to pieces.

And my sister Christina is an awesome Mommy blogger. She's on my "fave blogs" on the right if you haven't read her blog. She gets to review all kinds of products and this month they sent her a booster seat with an attachable booster for a little baby. Seeing as she has 3 boys she sent it to me to review. Savannah loved it as you can see in the pictures below. We've fed her baby "sixty" (I have no idea where this name came from) lots of fun things. Including mashed up goldfish which were a delight to clean up, HA!

Kiawah Island Trip Part Deux

Oh my goodness...so I said it couldn't get better. I was so wrong! The weather turned even more beautiful and we discovered such cool seal life! I've never seen a horseshoe crab...wow was that neat. We rescued over a hundred starfish that had washed up on the shore. We saw a big blue crab, and some crazy flying bugs. Who knew Kiawah was such a nature spot?

We celebrated my birthday at a great Ale house restaurant on the island. The food was amazing, and the kids were so great. Savannah loved singing me Happy Birthday and helping me blow out my candle! I can't remember the last time I shared a birthday with my family. Hunter had fun hiding my presents around the house too. Carla bought me quite possibly the best massage I've ever had. It was 90 minutes of bliss at the Sanctuary. I was in heaven. What a memorable day.

One day we went into Charleston. I loved our tour of the city that we took by horse drawn carriage. It was very informative. The city really has a ton of history. I love the architecture and I'm not going to lie I loved the food. I could eat my way through that city! We ate at Poogan's Porch, HOLY SMOKES. They start you out with these melt in your mouth biscuits with honey butter...need I say more? Best restaurant in Charleston...don't miss it. Oh and ask about the ghost! We stopped at the Confederate museum which was pretty neat and I had to take a confederate aged elevator which was pretty spooky...we made it though.

It truly was a memorable trip. I loved the house we were in and we spent such great quality time together. Thanks for a fantastic birthday everyone! I will never forget it!
