My New Years notes to my loves...
Dear Savannah,
Wow how you've changed in this past year...I can't believe how big you are. Just now I laid with you when it was time for your nap. This is secretly one of my favorite things to do. The light was dancing through the window on your face and I wanted to savor that moment forever. Your perfect little face, listening to you breathe, your warm body all snuggled next to mine. I know someday you wont take naps, and when you get older you may not want to snuggle with me like this so I try to enjoy every single second. It's so precious to me. Before you fell asleep you whispered, "mommy I love you." and you drifted off. I did to...what a perfect start to the new year! Having conversations with you these days makes us smile ear to ear. You are such a smart thoughtful soul. This year will have a lot of exciting firsts to include your first day of Pre-K. Your an amazing big sister, always eager to help. And you love sniffing out your brothers stinky diapers and alerting all who are around. Today you also helped me take down all the Christmas decorations. You wouldn't stop until every ornament was off the tree. You then patrolled the house to make sure I got everything.You truly are a great help! I can't wait to see what you learn and get into this year. I wish you a year of exploring new things, learning to make friends and play, a year of exploring your independence (but still needing mommy and daddy), a year of learning all the new emotions you are now finding, and a year of happiness always. My chunky monkey snuggle bear! You are the cutest little bug, looking more like your daddy everyday. You snuggle with me each morning while you drink your morning bottle. I wish I could stay in bed with you for hours. Who needs a heating blanket? You are the best one ever! You are the SMILEY-EST little man I've ever seen. You smile when someone walks into the room, looks at you, you smile at the dogs...you are just a doll. Your first 8 months of life have made us all so happy. We are so lucky to of had a charming smiling sweetheart like you. I can't wait to see how you grow and change in the next year. I wish you a year of new fun and physical activity, new independence in crawling, walking, and running, a year of new words, a year of fun with your bis sister who you adore, a year of eating fun new things, and a year of happiness always.
